Interiors

I have always been artistic with a passion for art and design.  My interest in interior design sparked in 2014 when my family embarked on home building project. My parents invited me to join in client meetings with our interior designer. Watching her process of bringing my parents’ vision into reality was inspiring. When it came to designing my room, I was given full creative control (at 12 years old!) with the guidance of our designer. I came up with my color palette, fabrics, and wallpaper/colors.  I even drew up a window seat with storage included and they turned that drawing into reality. This creative freedom allowed me to explore and fall in love with interior design.

In 2019, I was given the amazing opportunity to be an intern at Martha O’Hara Interiors, which took my interest in interior design to the next level. My responsibilities included assisting with fabric and accessories, organizing furniture, entering purchase orders, coordinating with our suppliers, and staging a home for the Artisan Home Tour. Experiencing the duties of an interior designer first-hand made me fall further in love with the job. I learned so much from the designer and loved the work environment the company cultivated.

In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic and my senior year of high school, I was able to remodel our family’s guest room. My parents gave me a fixed budget and allowed me to find art, bedding, accessories, and furniture for the room. With full control over this project, I learned how to manage the process of interior design.

In 2022 I was a Visual Merchandising and Inventory Management Intern at South Loop Loft. Here I began to learn the retail, marketing, and furniture side of the design industry. I continued to work there in various capacities for the balance of the college career.

After my junior year at Loyola, I was an intern at JP Interiors, a Chicago-based Interior Design Firm. While at JP Interiors, I got to shadow their designers and learn the ins-and-outs of the industry.

In the fall of 2025, I will complete my Interior Design Certificate at the Art Institute of Chicago. I have enjoyed building my technical skills and being exposed to design concepts.

How do I feel about interior design? A home should be a reflection of one’s best self;  it should inspire and comfort its owners. I look forward to partnering with clients to create inspiring and comfortable spaces!
